| There are many definitions of an Intelligent Building; it all depends on one’s perspective. This session will present a picture of Intelligent Buildings from a building owner’s point of view, and is structured to be very relevant to building systems stakeholders. |
| This presentation will define Intelligent Buildings as those matching the vision and purpose of a property with supporting technology infrastructure, services and multi-faceted returns. |
|
| Intelligent Buildings support the current emerging and anticipated mission(s) of stakeholders. This session will address design and construction of facilities that support day 1 and future needs of stakeholders. |
|
| This presentation explores two major concepts and related opportunities to drastically improve energy and environmental effectiveness of commercial buildings while simultaneously increasing occupant health and organizational effectiveness. First, by integrating exterior and interior building systems for flexibility and adaptability and user satisfaction, natural forms of conditioning and building reconfigurations enable healthy, energy effective buildings and eliminate waste throughout the life-cycles of all materials, components and systems.
Second, by integrating the resulting energy conservation with renewable energy and distributed energy technologies, buildings can become energy generators. Buildings will function as power plants, producing more energy on-site than is brought to them in the form of non-renewable resources.
In addition to briefly explaining these concepts and their resulting opportunities, the presentation will focus on the role of advanced integrated sensing actuating control technologies and their TCP/IP-enabled interaction. |
