UNC is finding real success using Web Services for monitoring and control of buildings. New tools enable in-house staff to integrate buildings into overall CCMS by themselves. Standard cross-building tracking of sensors and events in standard databases is letting us see our buildings better than we ever have. Organizational challenges to accessing other silos top the to-do list right now. Customer access and enterprise-friendly abstractions will be the next major hurdle.
